Explore Global Opportunities for Your Students

IAESTE Canada operates in collaboration with the Government of Canada through the International Experience Canada (IEC) program. This partnership ensures that Canadian youth have accessible pathways to gain valuable international work experience, while supporting national goals for student mobility and global engagement.

Students enrolled at any Canadian post-secondary institution can take advantage of our paid, relevant job positions in over 85 countries around the world.

Any post secondary educational institution can work with IAESTE in different ways to facilitate these international work experiences for their students. We invite your institution to join us in preparing the next generation of globally minded professionals through international learning and work-integrated experiences.

Benefits of partnering with IAESTE

Benefits

International Internships for Students

IAESTE offers paid, professional internships abroad in a wide range of academic fields, primarily in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Key disciplines include engineering, computer science, architecture, natural sciences, and environmental studies. We also see internship offers in graphic design, education, management, and business.

These internships are designed to complement students’ academic training while enhancing their global perspective, practical experience, and employability.

Program Support

IAESTE Canada facilitates the exchange process, including student outreach, application support, placement coordination, and assistance for both outbound and incoming interns. We have a flexible support model that allows our institutional partners to have as little or as much involvement and control of the process as they like, while ensuring a well-structured, supported experience for both staff and students.

Alignment with Internationalization Goals

Our programs contribute to institutional objectives such as outbound student mobility, work-integrated learning (WIL), global engagement, and internationalization at home. Participation in IAESTE supports broader goals outlined by organizations such as the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), helping expand access to high-quality international opportunities for students across disciplines.

Student Leadership and Local Committees

Institutions have the option to establish an IAESTE Local Committee— an adminstrative or student-led initiative that works in collaboration with IAESTE Canada to promote internships, engage campus stakeholders, job-raise in their communities or on campus, and support the arrival of international trainees. This can allow you oversight and control over the number of available postions for your students as well as to select outbound students based on your program goals. These committees offer leadership development and promote peer-to-peer engagement in international education.
