IAESTE Canada
Founded in 1953 by the Engineering Institute of Canada, for 70 years IAESTE Canada has helped over 14,000 students gain valuable work and cultural experience abroad. Since 2013, IAESTE Canada is a non-profit Canadian corporation that accepts students from any post-secondary institution in the country. We provide paid, professional jobs for Canadian students as well as providing recruiting and work permit service for Canadian employers wishing to hire foreign youth.
International Experience Canada
IAESTE Canada is a recognized organization of the Government of Canada’s International Experience Canada program. International Experience Canada gives young Canadians the opportunity to broaden their perspective of the world and Canada’s place in it through international work and travel experience.

Through IEC, Canada has formal Youth Mobility Arrangements with more than 30 countries and territories that allow Canadian youth, between ages 18-35, to work while they travel in a partner countries. As a reciprocal program, young citizens from these countries and territories (and sometimes other countries) are also able to come to Canada.
This initiative originated over 60 years ago as a cultural exchange program between youth. With IEC’s current mandate, the Government of Canada remains committed to fostering cultural, economic and social exchanges between youth through work-travel opportunities.

The Government of Canada works with key stakeholders like IAESTE in Canada and abroad to raise awareness of the program, promote the benefits of international experience, and to equip Canadian youth with information to successfully embark on international work and travel experiences through IEC.

IAESTE A.s.b.l.
IAESTE Canada is affiliated with IAESTE A.s.b.l., an association of national committees representing academic, industrial, and student interests.

IAESTE serves 4000 students, 3000 employers, and 1000 academic institutions through career-focused professional internships abroad, social and intercultural reception programs, international networking, and other career and employer branding activities in more than 80 countries worldwide.

IAESTE provides the IAESTE Alumni Network to make it possible to stay in touch or re-establish contact with IAESTE colleagues and friends. It is valuable both for those who have been actively involved with IAESTE as an employer and those who have fond memories of an IAESTE traineeship. In addition to getting in touch with friends or existing contacts, you also have the chance to establish new contacts and find new opportunities relevant to your work and/or career.
